marc, brett, and rowell came up to LA for the weekend. we did a bit of everything. hit a downtown bar, watched a red carpet for a premiere, showed them some of my fave neighborhood restaurants, and had drinks at the famous Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. this bum in the picture is rowell taking over his own booth at norms. a lot of energy was expended this weekend, and this was just the first night of festivities.
i also got to combine my LA/UCLA friends with some of katrina's friends and co-workers at the j. lounge downtown. it was quite a diverse crowd there of law students, azn triad lookin fools, cholos, and all around ugly people. what a fine time though.
katrina's work also comped her a hotel room at the omni. that shit was nice. i never thought i'd get to stay at a downtown omni.
so what an exceptional weekend. it's rare that sd friends hang out up here and stay at my place, so i cherished it. the one thing i love about us is that we'll go long periods of time without getting to catch up, but when we get together it's like we hopped in a hot tub time machine back to 2002 again. nothing changes. the only thing that compares to that kind of familiarity and comfort is family.
