Well that sucks, kind of.

on thursday, i found out the account that i work on will no longer be employing my agency in a few months.

there's still work to be done before the official split between agency and client, but it's not yet known whose services will still be needed and for how long.

i wasn't officially told i was going to be laid off, but i was also advised it'd be stupid in today's economy to not start shopping my resume.

so i'm back where i was 5 months ago. and 3 months before that.

back to the drawing board.

sad that it's the end of a good thing. and this good thing was mo' gooder than any of the past jobs i've been at.

at the same time excited for change. not like wholesale obama-status type change. but maybe a new department, a new office, a new type of agency. the only thing that's for sure is that i won't be working on this particular client anymore.

but with every one of these forced transitions comes a bigger risk with trying something new. i've left a lot of dollars on the table by moving more like LT (laterally) and less like AP (straight up the field) with my career choices.

i'm at a crossroads again. stick with what i'm doing and most likely make more money somewhere else? or put my past experience on the shelf and try something new cause i'm still interested in all the different aspects of advertising? tough questions to ask myself when i can't even answer a question as basic as what i want to do with the rest of my life.

to be continued....
