i made a lot of friends during my time at ucla who were the kind of people i never thought i'd be friends with. some are way too ghetto, some too pro-filipino, some too hella bay area, some are borderline geeky. at least they seem these ways when i compare them to my family and the lifelong friends i've got at home.
but what everyone has in common is just all around goodness. kindness. generosity. selflessness. they can take jokes at their own expense. and they all lack excessive arrogance. pretentiousness. shallowness.
at my friend chris's birthday i re-connected with a lot of these old faces. and though we see each other a few times a year and wouldn't normally consider each other the closest of friends, there's a certain comfort level i still get knowing that these folks are quality people who haven't changed over time.
just had to sit back tonight and appreciate that.
also, happy 3 years and 1 month to me and my little study bunny. i love you and don't you forget it.
i just arrived in SD less than an hour ago, which is why i'm still up. i'm all settled in but a little thrown off by all this new furniture my parents have purchased. it's all because they're not moving to the PI anytime soon anymore, but that's a whole other topic of discussion.
