Getting a head start.

every new year is a new promise to update my blog. got some free time with no work this week, so here goes.

christmas was at raider headquarters in riverside. the crowd and the gift stack was smaller, but the food and laughs and insults were bigger. and that's all that really matters.

nanay stayed at my house from friday night until today. haven't had a chance to be around her for a full 24 hours before, and my does she sleep a lot. but man she's just so gosh darn cute when she's awake. the highlight had to be when kuya nick brought emma reece over. nanay just shot up out of her slumber to play and laugh with her. she was so energetic, i started thinking about how un-entertaining the grandkids must be to her now since we can't keep her awake for more than an hour.

we had a nice brunch in celebration of kuya dre's birthday at hash-house in hillcrest. gay jokes galore. and some great story-telling. not to mention incriminating pictures of kuya dre dressed as a reindeer. and gay people must travel with a lot of quarters, because those meters are real stingy with their minutes.

i spent a lot of time with katrina's fam since they were all in SD for christmas. i admire how they always manage to stay together for not just christmas, but also at least a few days more doing various activities. and it's very cathartic for my soul to hang with a family who has nothing but positive things to say about each other after i participated in a day of bashing and ridiculing my younger cousins at christmas.

my loved ones have been especially kind to me this christmas with the gifts. with the tough times i pulled back a little on the giving, but i feel like i cheated because i received so much love from everyone else. i really feel like i'm gonna be a new dude in 2010 with all the new clothes, accessories, and other practical goodies i scored. thanks everyone!

the only thing i did today was play basketball with the fellas. not my best showing on the court, but good to get the guys together since this only happens a few times a year.

i had a small dinner and now i'm starving. i'd go get mex food if i wasn't so damn lazy. i must say i do love having the option though. winter breaks are the shit!
