it's no secret how much i dislike my job.
so i got an offer to work with my old boss at another agency. she was thrilled to have me join her team.
the only thing is, i didn't accept.
i got wind of a new position at a sister agency of ours, and by applying to that, it'd be insulting to my current company for me to put my name in for that job and then turn around and leave for a whole different company.
it was also insulting for me to solicit an offer from my old boss's agency, and then turn around and reject them. so after flicking myself in the nuts 10-15 times for not thinking the situation through and anticipating this, i chose to insult my old boss.
there's a lot of media planners in LA, but it's a small enough industry where everyone knows each other. i've burnt one bridge now to prevent myself from burning the one i'm currently standing on. does that make sense?
basically, i'm Elton Brand. except i chose not to leave my current team. but as far as getting a bit too selfish and setting myself up to ruin some personal relations, call me #42. i'm actually wearing my EB jersey now and sipping straight out of a bottle of jack to wallow in self-pity. ok jk. but i do feel like shit.
i don't expect much of myself in life except to not disappoint those i care about. today i did that, and i wanted to throw up. it might end up that i'm making a bigger deal out of this then it really is, but for now, i hate this feeling.
the best part is, i'm by no means guaranteed for this sister agency job that i put my name in for. it's very possible that i'll lose out on it. then i'm back to square one, and with one less ally in the industry to help me out.
man i could really use a good charger game right now.
