Ash Wednesday.

for anyone not on facebook, i'm giving up french fries and onion rings for lent. no reason in particular. i have fries in 1 or 2 of my meals every week, and onion rings would've been too easy (and expensive) of a substitute. plus i was running out of things to give up.

today's ash wednesday mass was interesting. the priest felt the need to clarify at every point in the mass that the ash on the forehead action wasn't going to be until the very end. after noticing that 50% of the attendance showed up after the 30-minute mark and seeing people bum rush the line when it was ash time, i see why. catholics just gotta have their ashy foreheads on ash wednesday. it's like a badge. it probably shouldn't be that way, but who am i to criticize.

anyone who was a 1st-round draft pick out of FSU and playing for one of my pro teams was on the hot seat today. thortnton gone. not the most consistent clipper, but fun to watch. and still believe he had some upside. cromartie being shopped. peace out. i'd throw a cheap paternity joke in here, but i feel too bad about what his kids are gonna have to go through growing up.
