segregation is good. not in society, but in foods. i don't know that i've ever had a really good fusion of two distinct cultures' foods.
exhibit A: the kogi craze
since last year, LA has gone bananas for korean bbq meats in mexican-style tacos and burritos. sounds good on paper, but so did the mega powers. macho man and hulk hogan were too mighty on their own to get along and form a cohesive unit, and so are korean and mexican food.
it was my 2nd time partaking in the kogi craze, and again i just wasn't wowed. in the words of uncle willie, it's missing the umph. i'd gladly take AYCE DIY brisket & bulgogi or a santanas california burrito instead of a kogi taco. so when it comes to food, america, separate but equal is utopia to me.
