one of my biggest pet peeves at work is when people--mostly higher-ups and clients--sign their emails with just the first letter of their name. for example:

hello,
i am a douche.
-s

to which i say...
are you sooo busy that you can't waste the nanoseconds it takes to finish the rest of your name?

are you that superior to everyone else who shares the same first letter in their name that you claim ownership of that letter?

if typing an email on your blackberry is that labor intensive, just don't put anything at the end!

really? was your last agency the M.I.B.?

after a few years, i've gotten used to this. my boss really steamed my clams today though. not because he was signing emails with one letter, but he started using one letter to address me!

now i don't care if you want to shortchange your own name, but my name is nice. spell it out, guy.
