this man was a hero today, and his name deserves to appear in every media outlet possible. i'm not an expert at piloting, but landing a commercial jet on a river without seriously injuring passengers sounds damn near impossible to me.
what deserves even more admiration is how he, his crew, and some cool-headed passengers got everyone to calm the fuck down and made sure every single person got out of that plane, all while ice cold water began to overtake the plane during its submergence. i don't even know if submergence is a word, but hell, a story like this deserves the creation of a new word in the English language somewhere.
i don't know captain sully or much about him other than he was an air force pilot, but from a story like this alone i do know that the world needs more of these guys.
